How to use the salary to hourly converter
One salary, six ways to look at it
Job adverts, contracts, and freelance quotes all quote pay differently. This converter puts the same job on an hourly, daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and annual footing so offers can be compared honestly.
Watch the assumptions
Two jobs with the same headline salary can differ once hours are counted: 52,000 at 40 hours a week is 25.00 an hour, but at 45 hours it is only 22.22. If you do not work all 52 weeks (unpaid leave, seasonal work), lower the weeks-per-year figure to match.
Example
Annual salary 52,000 at 40 hours a week: hourly 25.00, weekly 1,000, monthly 4,333.33. Flip the tab and enter 25 as an hourly rate to see the same breakdown built the other way.
Frequently asked questions
How many working hours are in a year?
At 40 hours a week for 52 weeks, 2,080. That is the standard full-time figure used in most salary comparisons.
Is this gross or net pay?
Gross — before tax and deductions. For a net estimate, take the annual figure into our Take-Home Pay Calculator with your own deduction rows.
Does it work for part-time roles?
Yes. Just enter the actual contracted hours per week and the same salary converts correctly.
